Baseball Recap: Weldon Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Weldon Valley and Briggsdale squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Weldon Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 23-13. The defeat leaves the Warriors still looking for their first win of the season.

Noah Johnson and Zander Braun stepped up to the plate in a big way. Johnson went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Braun got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Petrino, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Weldon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-14-1. As for Briggsdale, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8-1.

As of now, neither Weldon Valley nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
