Basketball Recap: Marengo Takes a Loss

Marengo and Shields squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Marengo had to settle for second. They fell 51-42 to the Shields Panthers. Marengo has struggled against Shields recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Marengo lost, don't look at Omar Autery. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. What's more, Autery also posted a 58% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. DeVontae Tucker was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Marengo's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Shields, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
