Softball Recap: Lincoln Gets the Win

Lincoln won the last time they faced Lakes and things went their way on Thursday too. The Abes had just enough and edged out the Lancers 9-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Abes.

The team relied heavily on Joy Wilde, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most triples she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Destiny Bass, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Lincoln's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Lakes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Lincoln will venture away from home to challenge North Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.3 runs per game on average), something the Abes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakes, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Gig Harbor at 4:00 p.m. The Tides will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
