Basketball Recap: Casady triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Kate Naifeh

Basketball Recap: Casady Cyclones vs. Cascia Hall Commandos

The Casady Cyclones have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Cascia Hall with a 50-46 win on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given Casady's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 888th, while the Commandos are ranked 312th).

Kate Naifeh had a dynamite game for Casady, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Naifeh continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Warren, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Casady's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Cascia Hall, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12.

Casady will take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cascia Hall, they and the Braves will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Saturday.
