Basketball Recap: Eastern York Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastern York can now relate to. They lost 60-40 to the Devon Prep Tide on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tide are ranked third).

Leading Devon Prep to victory were Reece Craft and Zane Conlon. Craft dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards, while Conlon went 6-for-11 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. The match was Craft's third in a row with at least 19 points. Calvin Smith was another key player, putting up five points and five assists.

Eastern York's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Devon Prep, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Eastern York does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Devon Prep, they will square off against Bishop Shanahan on Friday. Bishop Shanahan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Devon Prep likes a good challenge.
