Baseball Recap: Grove Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grove waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Vinita Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-1 last Monday.

Walker West made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Grove's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Aidan Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Dalton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Grove's record now sits at 9-7. As for Vinita, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vinita: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
