Volleyball Recap: Edgewood Takes a Loss

If Edgewood was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Preble Shawnee two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 3-0 to Mount Notre Dame on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Railynn Bowman paced Edgewood's offense, picking up five kills. Bowman got some help from Ella Crist and her 13 assists. Bowman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sydney Geselbracht went supernova For Mount Notre Dame., getting 12 kills and six aces. Those six aces gave Geselbracht a new career-high.

Edgewood has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Mount Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Edgewood nor Mount Notre Dame have any future games scheduled.
