12 must be New Brockton's lucky number: they beat Straughn with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Gamecocks beat the Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-6. The Gamecocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jacob Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. New Brockton is undefeated when Fisher posts eight or more strikeouts, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Will Adkison, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Clark Moran was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases.

The victory was the fourth in a row for New Brockton, bringing their record up to 12-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Straughn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Coming up, New Brockton will be playing at home against Geneva at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Straughn, they are taking a road trip to face off against Greenville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Straughn is facing Greenville at the right time seeing as Greenville is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
