Basketball Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. McKinley Tech Trainers
The Roosevelt Roughriders will head out on the road to square off against the McKinley Tech Trainers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (Roosevelt is ranked 14th, while the Trainers are ranked 17th).
Last Friday, Roosevelt took a serious blow against the Ramblers, falling 60-28. Roosevelt was down 53-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meanwhile, McKinley Tech lost to the Indians at home by a decisive 43-26 margin on Wednesday. McKinley Tech has not had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Kamille Fisher, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Roosevelt has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for McKinley Tech, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Roosevelt took their win against the Trainers when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 41-21. Does Roosevelt have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trainers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
