Preview: Sulligent Blue Devils vs. Red Bay Tigers
The Sulligent Blue Devils will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Red Bay Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Sulligent will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Sulligent gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They blew past Winston County 51-24 on the road. Given Sulligent's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Winston County is ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
While Red Bay couldn't quite beat Winston County on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 50-point loss they were dealt two weeks ago. Red Bay fell just short of Winston County by a score of 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Red Bay has suffered yet this season.
Sulligent's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Red Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.
Everything came up roses for Sulligent against Red Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 73-24 victory. Will Sulligent repeat their success, or does Red Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
