While Academy for Classical Education's win against Lake Oconee Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gryphons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Titans on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gryphons have posted since March 27th.

The victory made it two in a row for Academy for Classical Education and bumps their season record up to 18-10. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 20-7 Washington County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.2% over those games). As for Lake Oconee Academy, they moved to 13-6 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Classical Education will head out to square off against Washington County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gryphons 4, the Golden Hawks 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lake Oconee Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Social Circle at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
