Baseball Recap: Boone's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Boone had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They skirted past the University Cougars 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Braves have posted against the Cougars since February 23, 2022.

Henry Vega tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Boone is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Liam Graham and Ty Higgins did most of the damage at the plate: Graham scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Higgins scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Higgins has posted since back in April of 2024.

Boone's record is now 4-7. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Boone will take on Dr. Phillips at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for University, they will square off against Lake Howell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Lake Howell has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
