Basketball Recap: Tysen Jefferson Key Part of Team Effort in Titans Win

There's no place like home for North Tampa Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the University Christian Christians by a score of 65-52 on Saturday.

North Tampa Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tysen Jefferson led the charge by going 6-for-13 to rack up 21 points and five assists. Jefferson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Vuk Jankovic was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Several Christians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DaMarri Young-Grant, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ja'Kavious Dubose, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for University Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

North Tampa Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 58-53 loss against Suncoast on the 24th. As for University Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
