Softball Game Preview: Xavier College Prep Gators vs. Sunnyslope Vikings

The Xavier College Prep Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Sunnyslope Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Xavier College Prep will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Sunnyslope's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Xavier College Prep hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Gators were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Vikings on Wednesday. Considering the Gators have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joie Ramos was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Fleet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Xavier College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunnyslope only posted an OBP of .167.

Xavier College Prep pushed their record up to 17-5-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Sunnyslope, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.
