Cordova had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles 1-0. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Cordova who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21.

Cook Inlet Academy now has a losing record of 1-2.

Cook Inlet Academy has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Ninilchik on the 26th. Hopefully Cordova paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
