Basketball Game Preview: Otter Valley Otters vs. West Rutland Golden Horde

Otter Valley is 1-9 against West Rutland since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Otter Valley Otters will look to defend their home court against the West Rutland Golden Horde at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Otter Valley beats West Rutland with 47 points on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Otter Valley walked away with a 47-38 win over Springfield on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Otters.

Meanwhile, West Rutland faced Hazen in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. West Rutland beat Hazen by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 54-49. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Horde sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

West Rutland's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Otter Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.

Otter Valley was taken down by West Rutland 70-20 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Otter Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
