Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey St. Martin Triumphs

Schaumburg Christian came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Cristo Rey St. Martin, but Alexy Chapa wouldn't allow it. The Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM managed a 41-37 victory over the Schaumburg Christian Conquerors on Friday thanks in part to Chapa, who almost dropped a triple-double on 30 points, nine boards, and nine steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cristo Rey St. Martin's points.

Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Giada Falco, who posted 20 points and six steals. Falco is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Stephanie Tenuto was another key player, putting up four points in addition to ten rebounds and six assists.

Cristo Rey St. Martin's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Schaumburg Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Cristo Rey St. Martin will be playing at home against Cristo Rey Jesuit at 12:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Schaumburg Christian, they will face off against Harvest Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
