Soccer Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day vs. Maranatha Christian

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys will head out to challenge the Maranatha Christian Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. La Jolla Country Day's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, La Jolla Country Day didn't have quite enough to beat Pacific Ridge and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Torreys have lost by just one goal.

Maranatha Christian got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They skirted past Bishop's 3-2.

Maranatha Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1. As for La Jolla Country Day, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season.

La Jolla Country Day skirted past Maranatha Christian 2-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Jolla Country Day since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
