Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Rams vs. Providence Academy
In what's become a running theme this season, the Grace Christian Academy Rams gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-38 win over Providence Academy on the road. The win was nothing new for Grace Christian Academy as they're now sitting on six straight.
Grace Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Alexis Hammock, who scored 24 points along with three steals. Hayden Hill was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with two steals.
Myla Johnson and Kinley Painter certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Johnson scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while Painter scored 13 points. That was a full 34.2% of Providence Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Grace Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Providence Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy will take on the at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berean Christian has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Providence Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Lions at 1:15 p.m. on January 27th. Concord Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the like a good challenge.
