Basketball Game Preview: Pacifica Tritons vs. Lancaster Eagles

The Pacifica Tritons will square off against the Lancaster Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Pacifica turned things around against Righetti on Monday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 79-67.

Meanwhile, Lancaster opened the new year with a less-than-successful 71-59 defeat to Paraclete.

Pacifica will need focus on slowing down Keelan Benjamin, one of several Lancaster players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 14 points and five boards. De'Shane Evans was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

Pacifica's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Lancaster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Pacifica and Lancaster were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but Pacifica came up empty-handed after a 70-69 loss. Can Pacifica avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
