Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Owls vs. Hillcrest Christian Saints

The Oakwood Owls will take on the Hillcrest Christian Saints in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oakwood has three straight victories, Hillcrest Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Monday, Oakwood didn't have too much trouble with AGBU as they won 64-50. The win was all the more spectacular given the Owls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Titans are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Hillcrest Christian came up short against Moorpark on Saturday and fell 66-59.

Oakwood pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Hillcrest Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
