Baseball Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

After flying high against West Port last Tuesday, Crystal River came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 12-6 to the Lecanto Panthers on Tuesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Dustin Tyler was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

Crystal River's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lecanto, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.

Looking ahead, Lecanto will challenge Springstead at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crystal River will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' matchup: after the Panthers face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Crystal River again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
