Basketball Recap: Mississinawa Valley Comes Up Short

Mississinawa Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 41-27 to the Fort Loramie Redskins. The match marked the Blackhawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Fort Loramie to victory were Landen Drees and Maxwell Maurer. Drees went 6 for 10 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Maurer posted ten points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those seven boards gave Drees a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Gasson, who had five points and three steals.

Mississinawa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Fort Loramie, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mississinawa Valley will head out to face off against Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Mississinawa Valley is facing Ansonia at the right time seeing as Ansonia is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Fort Loramie, they will square off against Minster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
