Baseball Recap: Kingston Triumphs

Kingston won the last time they faced North Huron and things went their way on Monday too. The Cardinals walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Brody Pohlod made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kingston is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Pohlod was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Logan Wilcox was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Kingston's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-9-1 when he doesn't). Nick Cummings was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Kingston's record now sits at 8-9-1. As for North Huron, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingston will face off against Marlette at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Huron, they will take on Mayville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
