Basketball Recap: Cocoa Beach Takes a Loss

Cocoa Beach lost against Rockledge back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cocoa Beach Minutemen lost to the Rockledge Raiders on the road by a 42-24 margin.

Despite the loss, Cocoa Beach still got an impressive performance from Baylea Holland, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Raegan Fish also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Rockledge found their leader in freshman Jazylle Bradley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for Bradley. Another player making a difference was Aiyana Sandy, who put up four points in addition to seven steals and five blocks.

Cocoa Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Rockledge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-11.

Cocoa Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 30-24 victory against Father Lopez on the 17th. As for Rockledge, they will face off against Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
