Basketball Game Preview: Orange Park Raiders vs. Colquitt County Packers

The Orange Park Raiders will be taking part in a tournament against the Colquitt County Packers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Saturday, Orange Park strolled past Eastside with points to spare, taking the game 44-30. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Rams are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Colquitt County's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Friday. They were dealt a 71-38 defeat at the hands of Lowndes. The loss put an end to the Packers' undefeated start to the season.

Orange Park will have to keep a close watch on Amira Walters- Smith and Amareyia Knighton, a pair of players who had a big impact on Colquitt County's prior game. Walters- Smith posted 18 points and three steals, while Knighton had 11 points. Walters- Smith's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Orange Park is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Colquitt County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
