Cheyenne and Virgin Valley are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Cheyenne will be playing in front of their home fans against Virgin Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Cheyenne got the win against Canyon Springs by a conclusive 20-7.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley earned an 11-7 win over Pine View on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Mady Wright was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit over her last ten games. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Ava Noel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Serenity Hinson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Virgin Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine View only managed five hits.

Virgin Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Cheyenne, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Cheyenne might still be hurting after the 20-4 defeat they got from Virgin Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Cheyenne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
