Basketball Recap: Baldwyn Takes a Loss

Baldwyn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 43-36 to the Wheeler Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-41 back in December of 2024.

Wheeler found their leader in freshman Marli Kate Shockley, who went 5 for 6 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Baldwyn's record now sits at 2-10. As for Wheeler, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Baldwyn will be playing in front of their home fans against Thrasher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Thrasher will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Baldwyn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheeler, they are taking a road trip to square off against Biggersville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Biggersville is on a five-game streak of home wins, Wheeler a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
