Softball Recap: Pontotoc Warriors vs. Corinth Warriors
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pontotoc can now relate to. They fell 9-6 to the Corinth Warriors on Saturday. Pontotoc has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kelsy Spears was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jaz Cuellar, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
On Corinth's side, McKinley Moore was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Maddie Mills was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Pontotoc's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Corinth, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-6.
As of now, neither Pontotoc nor Corinth have any future games scheduled.
