Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roman Catholic). They took down the Palmetto Panthers 77-61 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Cahillite who have now won three games in a row.
Samfree Sarante and Santiago Henriquez certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Sarante went 10 of 17 en route to 25 points and seven rebounds, while Henriquez posted 24 points and seven rebounds. Henriquez's evening made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Darren Ku, who had four points.
Roman Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Palmetto, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.
Roman Catholic will head out to square off against Archbishop Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Roman Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Palmetto, they will square off against Belen Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
