Football Recap: Chase Angell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Goodpasture Christian over Christian Academy of Knoxville + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Goodpasture Christian can now relate to. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Goodpasture Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chase Angell, who threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.1 yards per attempt. His passing game has become a key predictor of Goodpasture Christian's success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. The Cougars' leading receiver Slim Leavell was Angell's top target yet again, picking up 187 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Christian Academy of Knoxville found their leader in sophomore Seaton Moffett, who threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Goodpasture Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Christian Academy of Knoxville, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 7-4.
