Basketball Game Preview: Sidwell Friends Quakers vs. Bishop O'Connell Knights

The Sidwell Friends Quakers will challenge the Bishop O'Connell Knights at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday.

Sidwell Friends is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 31st on Friday. They fell just short of DeMatha by a score of 44-41.

On Saturday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the court. Bishop O'Connell walked away with a 57-50 victory over Imhotep Charter. The win was just business as usual for the Knights, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Sidwell Friends better keep an eye on Corey Dixon. He was instrumental in Bishop O'Connell's win, putting up 20 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Bivins, who posted nine points and seven assists.

Sidwell Friends' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bishop O'Connell, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Sidwell Friends and Bishop O'Connell were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but Sidwell Friends came up empty-handed after a 46-45 defeat. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
