Basketball Recap: Jay Comes Up Short

Jay lost to Grove back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs fell 54-44 to the Ridgerunners. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Ridgerunners are ranked 139th).

Jay's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jay will square off against Kansas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets' defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Grove, they will face off against Verdigris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Ridgerunners surely won't give up without a fight.
