Baseball Game Preview: Garces Memorial Rams vs. Liberty Patriots

Garces Memorial is 0-10 against Liberty since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. Garces Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Garces Memorial had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Frontier put an end to it on Friday. The Rams lost 7-1 to the Titans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Garces Memorial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was D'Angelo Flynn, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Nathan Willard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Liberty lost a heartbreaker to Centennial when they met on Wednesday, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Golden Hawks by a score of 8-7. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Brogan Witcher was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jonah Pineda, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Garces Memorial, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Garces Memorial hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
