Basketball Recap: Harris County Comes Up Short

Harris County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Smiths Station Panthers 70-36. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 466th in Georgia, while the Panthers are ranked 123rd in Alabama).

Harris County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Smiths Station, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Harris County Tigers take on the Jonesboro Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jonesboro has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Smiths Station and John Carroll Catholic will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
