Basketball Game Preview: North Hopkins Panthers vs. New Diana Eagles

The North Hopkins Panthers will square off against the New Diana Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Diana took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Hopkins, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, North Hopkins' defense stepped up to hand Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy a 2-0 shutout. The two-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, New Diana was just a bucket shy of victory two weeks ago and fell 34-33 to Eustace. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Hopkins will have to keep a close watch on Starrmia Dixon and Kayleigh Tibbetts, a pair of players who had a big impact on New Diana's prior game. Dixon went 8 for 17 on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Tibbetts posted 11 points and seven steals. Dixon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for North Hopkins and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for New Diana, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.
