Basketball Recap: Kayra Craig's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Langham Creek over Bridgeland

Langham Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 54-44 to the Bridgeland Bears. The Lobos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 58-47.

Langham Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kayra Craig, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Craig also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Brooke Prevost was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six boards and five steals.

Even though they lost, Langham Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Langham Creek's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Bridgeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Langham Creek will challenge Cypress Woods at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridgeland, they will take on Cypress Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Springs will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Bridgeland surely won't give up without a fight.
