Lovington beats Albuquerque Academy for their third straight win

The Lovington Wildcats won against the Albuquerque Academy Chargers last Friday with 47 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Lovington put the hurt on Albuquerque Academy with a sharp 47-26 win. That's two games straight that Lovington has won by exactly 21 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lovington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Gomez, who threw for 240 yards and five touchdowns. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Elijah Rivero was in the mix as well, providing Lovington with two touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Albuquerque Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jett Galles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.

The victory (which was Lovington's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for Albuquerque Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lovington will take on Portales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Portales has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 376 points over their last eight matches. As for Albuquerque Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Bernalillo at 12:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Bernalillo is ranked 35th, while Albuquerque Academy is ranked 38th).
