Softball Game Preview: Springfield Millers vs. Ashland Grizzlies

Springfield is 2-8 against Ashland since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Millers will host the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. Springfield has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Springfield came up short against Eagle Point on Saturday, falling 11-2. The Millers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Springfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Sankey, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Ashland can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Churchill 10-9.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Ashland, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-7.
