Basketball Recap: Newberry Takes a Loss

Newberry was the 61-43 winner over Fairfield Central when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Newberry Bulldogs fell to the Fairfield Central Griffins 51-47. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Rashawn Brown, who went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points and five assists for Fairfield Central. Another player making a difference was Khaleb Feaster, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Newberry's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Fairfield Central, their record is now 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newberry will head out to take on Saluda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairfield Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Eau Claire at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
