Basketball Recap: Minerva Comes Up Short

Minerva was the 45-38 winner over Carrollton when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Minerva Lions took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrollton Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Warriors are ranked 161st).

Minerva has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Carrollton, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minerva and Lake will face off at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Carrollton, they will be playing at home against Canton South at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
