Baseball Recap: Chaminade Takes a Loss

If Chaminade was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of St. Edmund Prep on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flyers fell just short of the Archbishop Molloy Stanners by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stanners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Chaminade got a good showing from Jack Pfeifer, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pfeifer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Chaminade saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Anicito, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Anicito hit this season.

Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Archbishop Molloy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3-1.

Coming up, Chaminade will square off against St. John the Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Molloy, they will take on St. Francis Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
