Football Recap: Padua Franciscan Comes Up Short

Padua Franciscan fell victim to Benedictine and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 7-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bengals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Landon Hanover threw for 49 yards on seven of 21 attempts. Brady Devore was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.

Padua Franciscan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Benedictine, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Padua Franciscan will head out to take on Bedford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benedictine, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lutheran West at 7:00 p.m.
