Softball Game Preview: Morgan City Tigers vs. Vandebilt Catholic Terriers

The Morgan City Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan City has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight defeats, while Vandebilt Catholic will come in with six straight victories.

Morgan City fell victim to South Terrebonne and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Gators.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vandebilt Catholic). They put the hurt on A.J. Ellender with a sharp 21-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Vandebilt Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Morgan City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Morgan City suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Vandebilt Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Morgan City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
