Volleyball Recap: Research Triangle Comes Up Short

After flying high against Franklin Academy on Wednesday, Research Triangle came back down to earth. The Raptors came up short against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Raptors have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Research Triangle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kat Liquorie had 18 digs and three aces. Those 18 digs set a new season-high mark for Liquorie.

Research Triangle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Roxboro Community, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Research Triangle will face off against rival East Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Roxboro Community is set to challenge their familiar foe Triangle Math & Science at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
