Basketball Game Preview: Rogers Heritage War Eagles vs. Northside Grizzlies

Rogers Heritage is 0-10 against Northside since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Rogers Heritage War Eagles will welcome the Northside Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m.

Rogers Heritage is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Har-Ber. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Wildcats are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Northside entered their tilt with Southside on Monday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They claimed a resounding 64-29 victory over the Mavericks. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Northside had a senior duo take command as Erianna Gooden dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards and Hazley Grotjohn went 5-for-11 on her way to 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Grotjohn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Erikka Gooden was another key player, putting up six points.

Northside's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points over those games. As for Rogers Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-22.

Rogers Heritage might still be hurting after the 66-43 defeat they got from Northside in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Grotjohn, who went 7-for-14 en route to 19 points and seven steals.
