Baseball Recap: Renton Red Hawks vs. Highline Pirates
Renton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-2 to the Highline Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 24-2 back in March.
Elias Buchan was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Buchan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases.
Buchan wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Thor, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Renton's record now sits at 0-7. As for Highline, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9 record.
Coming up, Renton will head out to square off against Evergreen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highline, they will take on West Seattle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Seattle will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Highline surely won't give up without a fight.
