Game recap: Stone High School Football Team defeats Gautier

GAUTIER, Miss. - Stone (Wiggins, Miss.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 11 points, drop to three before the final whistle blew on a 21-18 victory over Gautier (Miss.).

After nabbing the lead on a touchdown pass by Jamyrian Quinn to Isaiah Swopes, the Gators went into halftime with a 10-7 lead. The Tomcats scored the winning points with a defensive touchdown that came in the third quarter.

Stone's defense helped with 12 points of its own during the win.

The loss comes after Gautier defeated East Central 24-7 last week. The loss broke Gautier's two-game winning streak.

Gautier (4-4) goes up against George County in a 5A Region 4 game matchup next week, while Stone (5-3) locks horns with Pascagoula also in a 5A Region 4 game.
