Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bunn couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Southwestern Randolph Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Bunn wouldn't go down easily and took Southwestern Randolph into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-14, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13.

Laney Mullen paced Bunn's offense, picking up 16 kills. Mullen got some help from Maycey Buchanan and her 29 assists. Finally, Payton Wood kept Bunn's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Bunn's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Southwestern Randolph, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Bunn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwestern Randolph, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Randleman on the 25th.
