Basketball Preview: Overbrook Rams vs. Cherokee Chiefs
Overbrook is 0-3 against the Chiefs since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Overbrook Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. Overbrook will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Overbrook strolled past the Red Devils with points to spare, taking the game 53-37. Given Overbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Red Devils are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cherokee came up short against the Scotties on Friday and fell 41-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cherokee has scored all season.
Overbrook has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Cherokee, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Overbrook came up short against the Chiefs when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 43-36. Can Overbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
